George Kaplan said he would often be given just a few hours' notice from Combs or his chief of staff, Kristina Khorram, to ready hotel rooms in cities like Los Angeles, New York, and Miami. Combs or Khorram would give Kaplan exacting instructions in how to set up the hotel rooms, Kaplan told jurors in Manhattan federal court on the eighth day of Combs' high-profile trial. REUTERS/Jane Rosenberg To protect Combs from fans and prying eyes, hotel rooms would often be booked under the name "Frank Black," Kaplan testified. The alias was a play on "Frank White," a nickname for the late rapper Notorious B.I.G., aka Biggie Smalls — one of the first artists Combs signed to his Bad Boy Records label. Before Combs arrived at a given hotel room or suite, "There was a bag. I unpacked it. Clothes, a speaker, a candle, Astroglide, baby oil, liquor," Kaplan testified. He said "as he grew to trust me more, he had me around more." Combs would frequently call Kaplan from the hotel room asking him to bring food, clothes and "sometimes drugs," he said. "I did it," he testified. Kaplan said Combs also kept a toiletry bag stocked with Advil and ketamine. "I picked up drugs for him" he testified. Asked if he cleaned the rooms, Kaplan said on the stand, "Yes. Bottles of baby oil, Gatorade. Once brown crystalized powder on the counter of the bathroom sink." When prosecutors questioned why he, not hotel staff, did the cleaning, Kaplan replied, "It was implied — protect his public image. I was keen on doing that." Kaplan was the latest in a string of witnesses in Combs' trial where he is facing charges of racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution.Combs pleaded not guilty to all charges. WASHINGTON (AP) — All but a few of the nearly 400 books that theU.S. Naval Academy removed from its librarybecause they dealt with anti-racism and gender issues are back on the shelves after the newest Pentagon-ordered review — the latest turn in a dizzying effort torid the military of materialsrelated to diversity, equity and inclusion programs. Based onthe new review, about 20 books from the academy's library are being pulled aside to be checked, but that number includes some that weren't identified or removed in last month's initial purge of 381 books, defense officials told The Associated Press. Afew dozen books at the Air Force libraries— including at the Air Force Academy — also have been pulled out for review, said the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the process is still ongoing. The back-and-forth on book removals reflects a persistent problem in the early months of the Trump administration, as initial orders and demands for an array ofpolicy changes have been forced to be reworked, fine-tuned and reissued because they were vague, badly defined or problematic.

"That pretty much happened right away, but then coming back last season was really interesting because we got a little bit into my backstory and we shifted in terms of our relationship when I no longer could be his doctor as we were seeing each other," she explained, referring to her character Dr. Julie Baram, who develops a romantic relationship with Ford's Dr. Paul Rhoades after he becomes her patient following a Parkinson's diagnosis. "What I love about this show is it mirrors what so many of us are going through, dealing with unexpected loss and challenges health-wise, and how you choose your family at a certain age," she added.
