Eleven tribute concerts paying homage to Jill Sobule have been announced for late May through early September, most of them under the banner of "Jillith Fair," with cities from L.A. to Northampton, Mass. all set to celebrate the lauded singer-songwriter, who died May 1 at age 66. The shows begin May 31 with a concert in Northampton, Mass. hosted by Erin McKeown and featuring such guest artists as Marshall Crenshaw, Syd Straw and Madeleine Peyroux. Other cities picking up the banner for Sobule through Sept. 6 include L.A., New York, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. Additionally, the announcement of the shows notes that other cities will be coming on board with yet-unannounced concerts down the line, including Nashville, Minneapolis and New Orleans. The house band will be led by Steve Postelll and include Leland Sklar, stars of the recent documentary "Immediate Family." Then, exactly one month later, a second L.A. tribute will take place at a slightly larger venue, Largo, this one hosted by Jim Turner. Cho will also appear at that one, and be joined by John Doe, Sara Watkins, Charlotte Caffey and Jane Wiedlin of the Go Go's, and other artists to be announced later. The New York gig will take place July 20 at Joe's Pub and feature a lineup that includes Joan Osborne, Richard Barone, Antigone Rising with Julie Wolf, Tracy Bonham, Julian Hornik, Matt Keating, Martha Redbone & Aaron Whitby, and the show's host, Marykate O'Neil. The shows will benefit the It Was A Good Life Foundation, which will disperse proceeds to the ACLU "and other causes Jill cared about." For those wanting to hear Sobule songs from the horse's mouth, two posthumous releases are on the way on June 6, one fresh, one historical. Her self-titled 1995 album — the one that included the landmark single "I Kissed a Girl" — is being released on vinyl for the first time that day, on red wax, from Rhino Records. The same day, her own Pinko Records label will release "F*ck 7th Grade — Original Cast Recording," allowing fans to hear all the songs from her oft-workshopped stage musical. The announcement about the tribute shows promised that many more celebrations are in the works, including the preparation and issuing of unreleased recordings, reissues of out-of-print LPs and a documentary film. Beyond this summer's tributes, her team is also hoping to have similar all-star shows on her birthday, Jan, 16, and beyond. Erin Andrews reveals surrogate suffered miscarriage: 'I have dealt with this before'New Foto - Erin Andrews reveals surrogate suffered miscarriage: 'I have dealt with this before'

Sportscaster Erin Andrewsis sharing an intimate story of loss. During a May 22 episode of "Calm Down with Erin and Charissa," the podcast she co-hosts with fellow sports journalist Charissa Thompson, Andrews revealed that the surrogate who was carrying her second child had suffered a miscarriage. Andrews, who sharesa son, Mack, 2,with husband Jarret Stoll, told listeners that she was at first hesitant to share the news but decided it might be therapeutic. "I have dealt with this before," she said, "but things were going really, really well. And her little heartbeat and her numbers were really good – so much so I even told you guys (her podcast team) a couple weeks ago because we thought we had such good news." Erin Andrews responds to ageistcomment that she's 'too old' for sportscaster role "I've been trying really hard to pay attention, I've just been tearing up the whole time and trying to stay focused," she said of the podcast episode. "But I'm also really, really good at suppressing my feelings and work really helps me with that. "I kind of made a promise to myself … that I was just going to be honest with people," she said, revealing this is not the first time a surrogate for her and Stoll had suffered a miscarriage. "When I was first dealing with all these infertility issues and loss … I just wanted to let other people know that we're dealing with them, that I get it and I understand,"Andrewscontinued. "And I'm going to do that again. This really, really sucks but so many people are dealing with it, so if you feel alone and you feel like a failure, I do, too. But you're not the only one." Erin Andrews opens up about new baby,'10 years of hell' battling infertility She admittedshe "didn't want to be back here in the loss column," but pressed the importance of sharing her journey and others feeling emboldened to do the same. The loss has also made her more grateful for her son Mack, Andrews said, who was also delivered via surrogate. Surrogacy, which has become more common in recent years, refers to the practice of a woman, contracted by a couple or individual, carrying an embryo to term that they do not have a biological relationship to. The processhas grown in popularity as the conversation around fertility struggles breaks from a whisper to an outspoken roar andas celebrities like Andrewsshare their experiences with surrogacy. Paul Mescal says it's 'lazy and frustrating' to compare his new gay romance "History of Sound" to "Brokeback Mountain"

Mustafa Yalcin/Anadolu via Getty Paul Mescalis calling out the repeated comparisons betweenBrokeback Mountainand his new gay romance film,The History of Sound. During a recent press conference at theCannes Film Festival, theAll of Us Strangersstar spoke out againstreviewsthatdraw connectionsbetweenthe two films, calling them "lazy and frustrating" and denying any similarities. "I personally don't see the parallels at all withBrokeback Mountain, other than we spent a little time in a tent," Mescal quipped in video footage of the event. "[Brokeback] is a beautiful film but it is dealing with the idea of repression, and this film is fundamentally pointed in the opposite direction." "So, to be honest, I find those comparisons relatively lazy and frustrating," he continued, "but for the most part, I think the relationship I have to the film is born out of the fact that it's a celebration between these two men's love and not a film about their repressed relationship with their sexuality." Oliver Hermanus'The History of Soundfollows two musicians who travel to New England during the summer of 1919 to record folk songs. Mescal stars alongsideJosh O'Connoras Lionel and David, respectively, who meet while attending the Boston Music Conservatory in 1917 and decide to travel together after World War I. Alongside Mescal and O'Connor, the film stars Chris Cooper, Molly Price, Raphael Sbarge, Hadley Robinson, Emma Canning, Briana Middleton, and Gary Raymond. Fair Winter LLC Ang Lee's critically acclaimedBrokeback MountainstarsHeath LedgerandJake Gyllenhaalas two cowboys who form a secret romance in 1960s Wyoming, despite eventually meeting and marrying two women (Michelle WilliamsandAnne Hathaway). At the time of its release,Brokeback Mountain's nuanced portrayal of queer romance was hailed as one of the best films on the subject, by bothcritics and audiences alike. So it's no surprise thatHistory of Soundis drawing comparisons to the award-winning film considering the emphasis on connection and the complexity of romantic relationships. Both films are also adapted from short stories. That focus on love is what drew Mescal to the script, which he recalled first reading when he was 24 years old — four years before they would eventually shoot the film. "Love is a very complicated — what's the thing, Andrew Scott's speech inFleabagabout love at the end at the wedding. That's what I think about," Mescal said. "It's a very hard thing to pin down," he continued. "What I found so moving about the screenplay is that it's never really described in words, it's described in actions and things you don't see ... That's something I've learned in my own life, kindness is wildly underrated in romantic relationships and should be celebrated." To counteract that, she said, "I'm about to send an email out to my agents and be like, 'No matter what comes up, they're gonna have to move around these three dates.' " TheOne Tree Hillalum noted the importance of spending time together and romance, saying that things have been too busy for them to really do so in 2025. Recalling a conversation with her makeup artist, she said, "I don't want to say [we've fallen into] a bad pattern, but I don't feel like we prioritize it the way that we should because we're so... I get it, we're so busy." Kramer added that her "favorite" sort of date that they do is an at-home one where it's romantic and peaceful."But I also think in a way, it's kind of... I don't wanna say an easy way out because I really love [that] you make it so sweet, and it's so thoughtful," she said. For her, the outings didn't have to be intense; they could be as simple as playing tennis during the day. "Let's do that at least once a month or something," she proposed, adding, "This is what is important for me: For us to be able to connect so that you're not at the end of the year going, 'Man, we didn't really prioritize us, and we are the glue that holds everything together.' " The loved-up couple dated for just over six months beforeannouncing that they were engagedin May 2023. On an episode of her podcast, Kramer recounted the sweet story of Russell's proposal, which took place in front oftheir children— her daughter Jolie, 9, and son Jace, 6, Russell's teenager Troy and their son Roman, 1. We were actually supposed to be in Jamaica, but something happened with the resort, so we ended up staying here, but honestly, that's exactly what I would have wanted, was at the house. I don't need the roses and the whole glam setup." Their wedding was attended by only 35 guests, keeping it small and meaningful. "We're getting married in Scotland, so the background is already stunning as it is. I just want to marry him, and I want my closest friends there. That's all that truly matters to us and our family," she told PEOPLE at the time. Read the original article onPeople
