TheBoogie Nights star, 55, who recently delved into directing with her filmChosen Family, took to the red carpet in a stylish pink negligee that had fans stopping in their tracks. Appearing at the opening night ofSeagull: True Storyat La MaMa Theater in Los Angeles, Graham sported the pink negligee, which had lace features around the bust and cascaded downward in a softer pink tone. She paired it with her trademark blond locks, which were smooth with soft curls at the bottom. While life is good for Graham these days, she's dealt with plenty of upheaval in the past. The actress, who rose to fame in films likeDrugstore CowboyandBoogie Nights, has been candid about the less attractive aspects of life in the spotlight. In her twenties, she cut off her parents, who didn't approve of the films she starred in. "My father's really religious, and they were, especially my father, very critical of everything I was doing," Graham toldthe Guardianlast month. But ending that relationship was beneficial, she found. "It didn't feel like a healthy dynamic. I stopped talking to them and, I have to say, that was a huge relief. I felt like, at that moment, my life opened up with a freedom. "As I detached from my family, I built my own sense of self-esteem. Sort of like a detective, I went through my past and looked at how I developed certain ways of thinking that weren't the healthiest, and basically just went on a journey to be happier." While she mentioned that they did try to contact her over the years, it was in a judgmental manner. "Like: 'Let me give you the number of the priest and you can go to confession.' I just think we're really different. They have a lot of great qualities – it's just not a healthy dynamic for me," Graham recalled.
